With access to the Ramaiah Group’s hospitals on campus, FPH students are assured of a comprehensive practical education in their field.

The 300-bed Memorial Hospital and the 800-bed Medical College Hospital treat patients from across the country. A reiteration of the Ramaiah Group’s commitment to providing quality healthcare to all, these hospitals house specialities like Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Endocrinology, Medical Oncology, Nephrology, Orthopedics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, General Medicine, and General Surgery.

FPH students receive training in these specialities at both the hospitals. They are actively involved in ward rounds, conducting interviews, understanding the medication history of patients, and in discussions on treatments and dose adjustments. They also participate in pharmacovigilance activities by reporting adverse drug reactions and medication errors to the regional centre.

Additionally, FPH’s Department of Pharmacy Practice has also established the Drug Information Centre (DIC). Based out of the Ramaiah Medical College Hospital, the centre offers a wide range of pharmaceutical services including patient counselling and responding to queries on drug information.

The training received at the Ramaiah Memorial Hospital and the Ramaiah Medical College Hospital equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the healthcare needs of society.
